Celebrating the life of
Linda Kay Ricks
November 23, 1950 - September 07, 2026
Linda Kay Ricks, 75, passed away on Monday, September 7, 2026, at St. Joseph’s Hospital, surrounded by her family.
Linda was born in Macon, Georgia. She was a devoted mother to her two sons, Brandon Oldfield (Caroline) and Chandler Oldfield (Jaimi). Her greatest joys in life were her grandchildren, May and Evie (Brandon and Caroline) and Liam and Logan (Chandler and Jaimi)
She is survived by her beloved sister, Diane Smith (Tom Smith) as well as her niece, Diana Smith, and great nieces Madeleine White and Maci White. She was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Stanley Ricks and Mary Crosby. She now rests peacefully with them in heaven.
Linda loved her sons and family deeply, and some of her happiest moments were spent with her grandchildren, especially when they played hide-and-seek together.
Linda took great pride in her appearance and had an unmistakable sense of style. Her hair, nails, and makeup were always done to a tee. She also had a gift for choosing personal, meaningful presents for those she loved.
She had a wonderful collection of childhood stories, particularly about her mischievous adventures. Her family loved hearing about the time she sprayed the water hose inside the house and the time she sneaked her mother cigarettes when she was very young. These stories reflected her wit and kept her family connected to the little girl she once was.
Linda had a wonderfully quirky nature, with distinctive habits and strong preferences.
She enjoyed a good glass of red wine and the simple pleasures of life. While she may not have been a fan of cats or dogs, she had plenty of love for the people who mattered most to her.
Linda will be remembered for her style, memorable stories, thoughtful gifts, and unique spirit. Above all, she will be remembered for the love she shared with her family and the laughter she brought into their lives.
She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by her sons, grandchildren, family, and friends.
A visitation will be held at Fox and Weeks on Hodgson Memorial Drive on Friday, September 18th from 4-6 pm.
